Finding a Way to Afford College Tuition by Accepting A Scholarship for Single Mothers
In: Home
Because of financial restrictions, many people assume that a single mother cannot go back to school. Finding the multiple options available to you can be as easy as asking at the same office where you would normally register for the classes you want to take. There are scholarships for single mothers available from private foundations for those unfortunate individuals who would fall into the category of the battered or abused. They have been set up to hopefully assist the single mother in her quest for financial freedom and happiness. An organization that has done exactly that is the SUNSHINE Lady Foundation. Government assistance for single mothers is offered to single mothers who decide to further their education.
Another such foundation is the Women’s Independence Scholarship Program which focuses on the single mom with small children. Single mothers don’t have to worry about finding someone to watch their children as these organizations offer scholarships that also cater to caring for the children. The government can also grant loans for single mothers, on top of these scholarships. There are different clauses that could forgive part or all of these loans, and working in a low-income neighborhood as a teacher is one of the clauses. Any grant you receive from the government does not have to be paid back. Government programs will require you to show evidence that you are in need of help. There are institution grants available and can be researched and applied for at the individual school/college.
