Constipation is one possible result of a clogged or toxic colon. And clearly, constipation is a big problem; millions of pounds are spent annually on laxatives and colon cleanse products, and doctors see thousands of patients each year who are concerned about this issue. But even if you’re regular, or suffer from diarrhea, you might still have a ‘dirty colon’. And if you’ve been consuming lots of meat, chicken and dairy products (as is recommended on an Atkins-type low-carb diet), your colon is soon buried under a load of putrefying protein.
Many conventional doctors deny that fecal matter accumulates in this way and downplay the dangers of a toxic colon, and completely ignore the need for colon cleansing on a regular basis. But I look at the rise of colon-related illnesses, including Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, colitis and colon cancer, and draw what to me seems an obvious conclusion: our clogged, toxic colons are putting us at risk.
